Sabers Honor Barksdale's Memory During Playoff Game
The Souhegan boys basketball team took the win last night, which was played in memory of Anthony Barksdale.
The Souhegan boys basketball team are on their way to the quarter-finals after a decisive win against Hanover, but the focus of last night's game was on a lost teammate.
Anthony Barksdale's death over the weekend shocked the Souhegan community, which he had graduated from just last year. The Sabers wore black shirts with "Tony" written across them at the game last night, along with his number, 42.
Sabers basketball star Brandon Len was also allowed by the NHIAA to switch from number 11 to number 42 for the rest of his season.

Students wore white t-shirts with his name written on them as well. The stands where students fans sat was entirely white. Tony's entire family was present for the tribute and the beginning of the game.
Souhegan won the game 55-33 and will now go on to the quarter-finals against Portsmouth on Saturday.
