Souhegan Basketball Star Scores 1,000th Point
Congratulations to Brandon Len for this milestone!
A Souhegan athlete reached an impressive milestone this month after sinking two free throw shots.
Senior Brandon Len scored his 1,000th point in a game against Hollis on Tuesday, Feb. 5. The game went to the opposing team, but the Len gave his team an impressive finish.
Len needed 24 points to get to his 1,000th point that game and had already scored 22 points before getting fouled with 15 seconds left in the game. The young basketball player sank both of his free throw shots to reach exactly 1,000.

Mother Christina Len said that the circumstances of this achievement was particularly special due to its location.
“The interesting thing is that he scored his very first points of his varsity high school career in that very same gym in Hollis and he scored them by making two free throws. I guess it came full circle.”

He was honored for his 1,00th point goal in a ceremony on Feb. 12 before the home game against Milford.
Len is a four-year varsity player, with three years now as a starter, and in his second year as a Co-Captain. Last year, he was a first team all-state player and runner-up for player of the year in division two.
Coach Michael Heany is proud of Len’s dedication on and off the court.
“What is remarkable to me is that beyond such a milestone achievement as an athlete, Brandon is also a star in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA, a member of the National Honor Society and two time Academic All State honoree,” said Heany. “He is on track to be the all time leading scorer in school history and we hope will lead us on a deep playoff run.”
