5 Great Things To Do Over Memorial Day Weekend

1. Honor our fallen. Memorial Day Weekeend is a time to remember those lost and appreciate the freedom that their sacrifice gives us. NH.com has a full list of parades and observances around the state during this patriotic holiday.

2. Fly high! The 21st Annual Rock 101 Sky Show will show off over Arms Park in Manchester on Sunday, May. 26 beginning at 2 p.m. This is a full day of fun to kick off summer culminating in a huge fireworks display over the Merrimack River. There will be a Beer Garden, food vendors and a full day of live musical performances by Quiet Riot, Prospect Hill, Flood This Earth, Draw the Line, Batter - Masters of Metallica and more! The state's largest Atlas fireworks display also begins at 9:20 p.m.

3. Great food! Only two days left to catch the unique menus that come with the second annual Restuarant Week here in New Hampshire. This statewide event has featured prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner from a variety of restaurants in all corners of New Hampshire. Get out and experience the fine cuisine the Granite State has to offer! Restaurant Week ends on Friday, May 24. A full list of restaurants can be found here.

4. Corvettes! The Gate City Corvette Club would like to invite everyone to attend their 33rd annual Spring Fling event on Sunday, May 26. They'll be located back at the Anheuser-Busch plant in Merrimack, NH again this year. One of the few remaining point judged shows in New England, and the first of the season! For those interested in having their cars judged, registration is $25 from 8:00AM - 11:30AM. Coupes & Roadsters are judged separately, and there will be over 49 classes broken out by year ranges and Show / Super Street / Street, in addition to several "Best of" awards. Score sheets can also be sent after the show to those interested in seeing their scores for an additional $1 (bring an envelope with your name & address already filled out on it, and have the $1 in the envelope). Dash plaques and goody bags will also be provided to the first 200 registered cars. All show cars are on grass. For those not interested in having their cars judged, a $10 car corral is available for Corvettes or other sports car / classic cars that want to be displayed. There will also be vendors for food & other goods present.

5. Music! Ed & Neil Pearlman will perform at the Concord Community Music School on Sunday, May. 26 from 7-9 p.m. his father-son duo will envelop you with powerful tunes from Scotland and Cape Breton. Ed's rich and expressive fiddling taps deep into tradition, while Neil’s piano playing weaves an astonishing tapestry of innovative harmony and rhythm. Based in Boston and Maine, Ed has been a pillar of the American Scottish music scene for over 30 years. He has performed and taught throughout the USA, in Canada and in Scotland, working with almost every major name in Scottish and Cape Breton music. With special guest, dancer Laura Scott.  All were featured soloists in November at the SRSNH's Gala Concert at Concord City Auditorium.
