VIDEO: NH Catholics Celebrate Pope Francis I
Bishop Peter Libasci led hundreds of local Catholics in Mass Wednesday in Manchester.
Manchester – As the smoke cleared in Rome and the word settled in around the globe that a new Pope had been selected, New Hampshire Bishop Peter Libasci was preparing a homily for an evening Mass, to celebrate Pope Francis I.
Hundreds of Catholics filled the pews inside the ornate St. Joseph Cathedral in Manchester for the 90-minute service, which began promptly at 6 p.m.
Outside the front entrance had been draped in gold and white, the Papal colors, to signify that a new Pope had been announced.
