763 New Hampshire Uber Drivers To Receive $673K Settlement
New Hampshire secured $672,822 for 763 Uber drivers as part of a $148 million settlement for a data breach.

CONCORD, NH -- Hundreds of New Hampshire Uber drivers will receive nearly $673,000 in compensation after a massive data breach. New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald on Thursday announced the Granite State will receive $672,822.71 for 763 Uber drivers whose information was compromised in the breach. Uber this week agreed to a $148 million settlement for thousands of drivers across the country.
The breach happened in November 2016 or shortly before. Hackers accessed personal information for more than 600,000 Uber drivers and Uber -- instead of reporting the hack as required by law -- paid the hackers $100,000.
"Uber violated the law by failing to report these issues to New Hampshire Uber drivers until November of 2017," MacDonald said in a statement.
