Merrimack Woman Crashes Into A State Trooper Cruiser During Chase In Concord: NH State Police Roundup

CONCORD, NH — A woman from Merrimack was scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday after being accused of driving 93 mph on Interstate 93 without the lights on an SUV being illuminated Friday night.

Around 11:30 p.m., a state trooper saw an SUV traveling on Interstate 93 north without its lights on. The trooper attempted to stop the 2012 Toyota RAV4 but accused the driver, later identified as Heather Lewis, 34, of Merrimack, of failing to stop. The trooper gave chase, a report stated.

Lewis took Exit 17 off the highway, into a steel gate blocking off a Class IV road, and through a field on private property, a report said. The driver then crashed the SUV into a state police cruiser.

Lewis was arrested on reckless conduct, resisting arrest or detention, criminal mischief, reckless operation, disobeying a police officer, and speeding-25-plus mph over the speed limit charges as well as an operating without lights violation. She was held on preventive detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Concord District Court on Monday.

No one was injured during the incident, state police said.

Sex Offender Arrested In Bedford

A man from Massachusetts was arrested in Bedford after being accused of failing to report his sex offender registration status in New Hampshire.

In late May, state police detectives obtained a warrant against James Fuller, 61, of Haverhill, MA, after accusing him of failing to register twice in 2025.

“The investigation determined that Fuller was residing in Haverhill, Massachusetts,” a report stated. “He was required to register in South Hampton, New Hampshire, which he failed to do.”

Fuller was found on Friday in Bedford and arrested on two felony counts of duty to report. He was released on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Hampton District Court on Oct. 16. Fuller is a sex offender due to sexual assault and felonious sexual assault-victim under 16 convictions from October 2012 in Newburyport District Court in Massachusetts, according to state police.

Hooksett Man Arrested After I-93 Crash

A man from Hooksett was arrested on Aug. 12 after a high-speed chase on Interstate 93.

Around 2:45 a.m., a trooper pulled over the driver of a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta on the southbound side of the highway. After a brief interaction, Aaron Thurber, 21, of Hooksett, reportedly drove off at a high rate of speed. Spike strips were deployed on the south side of the Hooksett tolls, deflating one of the car’s tires. Thurber was then accused of driving into a construction worker in a work zone.

The driver then crossed over to the northbound side of the Interstate and the chase continued north. Thurber then veered off the road, struck an embankment, and rolled the Jetta, state police said.

Thurber was taken to Concord Hospital with pending charges of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, reckless operation, and disobeying a police officer.
