Assistance to victims of crime a focus this week as New Hampshire joins in National Victims' Rights Week taking place through Saturday.

CONCORD, NH — Support for victims of crime is being put into focus this week as organizations across New Hampshire join in to participate in National Victims' Rights Week, taking place through Saturday. The goal is to raise awareness of resources available to victims and the work provided by the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office of Victim/Witness Assistance. Multiple organizations will be participating in National Victims' Rights Week, including the Attorney General's Office, the Victims' Compensation Program, the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, the AmeriCorps Victim Assistance Program, the College Consortium, and Victims Inc., according to the Attorney General's Office.

The Office of Victim/Witness Assistance gives 24-hour-a-day support to victims and witnesses in all New Hampshire homicide cases, and victims of elder abuse or financial exploitation. It also develops policies and training assistance for those who work with crime victims, the AG's office said in a statement.
