Northfield Triple Homicide: Investigators Search Woods For Evidence

NH Fish & Game and state troopers combed a wooded area on Shaker Road on Saturday, possibly looking for a firearm, sources say.

NORTHFIELD, NH — New Hampshire State Police troopers and Fish and Game conservation officers searched the side of several roads in Northfield on Saturday for potential evidence connected to a triple homicide that occurred on Wednesday.

The Attorney General’s office said law enforcement would be searching for evidence in connection to the ongoing investigation into the homicides of Kassandra Sweeney, age 25, and her two sons Benjamin Sweeney, age 4, and Mason Sweeney, age 1.

Fish and Game utilized a K-9 trained in finding ballistic items and were seen searching the side of Shaker Road, working the area from the road to a wooded area about 25 feet in.

"At this point in the investigation, investigators have identified all involved parties and there is no threat to the general public," the attorney general's office said. "Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released at this time. Officials ask that the public respect the privacy of residents in the area and stay off of properties in the search area and allow investigators to complete their work."
