CONCORD, NH — The Powerball jackpot continues to grow, inching toward half a billion dollars, because no one has won the prize since late May.

The jackpot for Saturday is expected to be around $482 million with a one-time cash payout, before taxes, of around $219 million. Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, said whether a ticket is bought in a store or ordered online, “each purchase supports public education in the state.” There are 482 million reasons to get a ticket, he said.

“Don’t miss your chance to win, while also supporting our state’s public schools,” McIntyre said. “Good luck, everyone.”
