UNH police said a woman who attends the school fended off a robber by flashing a knife.

DURHAM, NH -- A University of New Hampshire student scared off a robber Friday night by flashing a knife, police said. The woman was walking on a path near the school's Memorial Union Building at about 10:15 p.m. when a man jumped her.
"The male suspect cornered the victim and told her to empty her pockets and asked for her wallet," UNH police said in a statement. "He then took her ID. The female dropped her bag on the ground and displayed an unfolded knife and the suspect ran off."
The suspect was described as a tall, white, skinny man wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and black shoes with white soles.
