Burglar Enters Home While Woman is Upstairs Sleeping
A flat screen TV, keys and some alcohol were reportedly taken.
A Londonderry man was charged with burglary following a break-in at a local home in the early morning hours Monday.
Just after midnight Monday morning, Londonderry Police responded to a residence on Bockes Road after a female called stating that she believed someone was in her home. The female was upstairs in her bedroom and could hear banging downstairs.
Dispatch contacted Windham Police to assist as well. When Londonderry officers arrived on scene, noises were heard coming from the barn on the property. A few moments later, a subject was observed running from the area and into the woods.
The Londonderry Police K9 was requested to the scene and Hudson Police were requested to the scene to assist with setting up a perimeter in an attempt to contain the person who ran from the scene. Multiple officers reported fresh shoe prints in the snow in the area.
The K9 began its track, which led officers through the woods parallel with Bockes Road, heading east toward Mammoth Road. The track eventually led to another residence on Bockes Road, where there were fresh shoe prints in the snow leading up the stairs and to the door.
Contact was made at this residence and led to the arrest of Sean Koehler, 24, of Bockes Road in Londonderry.
Back at the scene, it was determined that entry was gained to the victim's residence through a window on the first level that had a screen ripped from it. The victim stated that her flat screen television had been removed from the wall and her car keys were missing. There were also several bottles of alcohol that were missing from the residence.
The victim's vehicle was in the driveway, however, the rear hatch was open. Officers located a pillow case filled with bottles of alcohol as well as a flat screen television. The car keys were found in the snow along the path where the suspect ran. The television and bottles of alcohol were determined to be the items missing from the victim's house.
Koehler was charged with burglary and attempted theft of a motor vehicle. He was held on $10,000 cash bail.
