Go-Cart Rollover Traps Two 12-Year-Old Boys In Derry
Derry Fire and EMS worked to free the tow boys from the rollover crash and transported the injured driver to the hospital

DERRY, NH - On October 15, 2020, at approximately 3:00 p.m., NH Fish and Game Conservation Officers responded to a go-cart crash involving two 12 year old males, one with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
NH Fish and Game said both of the juveniles, from Derry, were riding together on a go-cart while operating on a private track on private property when the operator lost control while navigating a turn causing the go-cart to roll over.
When the two juveniles didn’t return from the backyard, the neighbor got worried and went to the backyard and saw the go-cart on its side with both juveniles trapped inside and immediately called 911.

When Derry Fire and EMS arrived, Emergency personnel extracted both juveniles from the go-cart. The Juvenile operating the go cart was transported by Derry Ambulance to Elliot Hospital in Manchester to be treated for his injuries.
NH Fish and Game said the operator and the passenger were wearing the appropriate safety equipment which likely protected both individuals from far worse injuries. The juvenile passenger was not hurt during the incident.

It appears as though speed and operator inexperience are the main contributing factors in this crash. Fish and Game would like to remind all riders it is illegal for any minors to have a passenger while operating any Off Highway Recreational Vehicle.
