Inmate Missing from Nearby Halfway House

23-year-old convict has been missing since Thursday morning.

Local police are actively searching for a convicted burglar who is currently missing from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester.

According to a release from the New Hampshire Department of Corrections, 23-year-old Brandon Stewart McNeil of Manchester left the Lowell Street transitional unit around 8:30 a.m. Thursday and failed to report to work.  He was placed on walkaway status at approximately 11:45 a.m.

McNeil is described as a white male, 5-foot-9, 200 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

He was sentenced in Hillsborough County Superior Court to 1–3 years for burglary with 133 days of time served credited to his sentence. He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison on July 17, 2012 and was eligible for parole on March 5, 2013. His maximum release date is March 5, 2015.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating.  Anyone with information on the McNeil's whereabouts should contact their local law enforcement agency or New Hampshire State Prison at 271-1801.
