Londonderry College Students Graduate, Receive Accolades
College students from town make dean's lists, win awards, and arrive at school for the fall.
LONDONDERRY, NH — Laura Batchelor of Londonderry graduated from Hofstra University in May 2021, earning a Bachelor of Science in Video/Television and Business.
Jack Aaron, Madison Britting, and Brian Frechette all graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2021.
Rochester Institute of Technology conferred more than 4,000 degrees at all of its campuses in the 2020-2021 academic year. Due to New York state COVID-19 occupancy restrictions, commencement was celebrated May 14-15 in smaller ceremonies by college and were live-streamed for graduates' family and friends.

Deena Feldmann of Londonderry received a BFA in graphic design.
Luc Velie of Londonderry received a BS in industrial engineering.

Susan Lane of Londonderry received a BS and ME in mechanical engineering.
Clark University awarded 490 bachelor's degrees, 501 master's degrees, and 10 doctorates, and conferred three honorary degrees during the University's 117th Commencement ceremonies. Graduates were urged to ask the hard questions, drive change, and even occasionally stir some trouble. Among the graduates were:
Sophia Jean Wightman Poulin, of Londonderry, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Community Youth and Education Studies.
Arianna E. Reyes, of Londonderry, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Development and Social Change.
Hundreds of students graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University this spring 2021 semester. The University's 131st annual Commencement Exercises occurred on campus on May 15 and 16.
Sammy Honeywell of Londonderry graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Communication.
Coastal Carolina University recognized nearly 1,200 students during its in-person Spring 2021 commencement ceremonies, held Friday, May 7, and Saturday, May 8, in Brooks Stadium. Among the graduates was Emily Vrettos a Marketing major from Londonderry.
Emerson College awarded more than 950 undergraduate degrees and more than 470 graduate degrees for the Class of 2021 on Sunday, May 2, at Fenway Park in Boston, MA during its 141st commencement exercises, and virtually on Sunday, May 9. The College also honored the Class of 2020 graduates in an additional ceremony at Fenway Park on May 2.

Riley Walberg of Londonderry graduated in December 2020 and received a BS in Interdisciplinary.
Curry College is pleased to announce that Ryan O'Donnell of Londonderry received a Bachelor of Arts degree at Commencement exercises on May 23, 2021. On a summer-like day, Curry College honored 687 graduates from the Class of 2021 in its 141st Commencement celebration. The ceremony, including O'Donnell, was live-streamed from the Walter M. Katz field to approximately 2,300 family members, friends, alumni, faculty and staff, among other Curry community members.
Katrina Deyett of Londonderry graduated from Granite State College on June 27. Walter Houghton of Londonderry graduated with a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from William James College.
Students at William James College train to become culturally-responsive professionals in psychology, counseling, human services and leadership. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, these professionals are needed now more than ever.
The College of the Holy Cross is excited to welcome Jacob Ruppel of Londonderry as a member of the College's Class of 2025. At 822 students, the Class of 2025 includes students from 33 states and 15 nations across the globe. This year's incoming class is made up of 54 percent women and 46 percent men, with 23 percent of students coming from ethnically diverse backgrounds and 16 percent as proud first-generation college students.
Valerie Shay of Londonderry, a Chemistry major, has received the 2021 Joseph C. Cahill Prize from College of the Holy Cross. The Joseph C. Cahill Prize is awarded to a graduating chemistry major for excellence in chemistry.
Sophia Jean Wightman Poulin, of Londonderry was named to first honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Spring 2021 semester. Students must have a GPA of 3.8 or above for first honors or a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79 for second honors.
The University of Rhode Island celebrated more than 4,000 of its newest alumni during the University's 135th Commencement. More than 3,700 undergraduate degrees and 680 graduate degrees were conveyed to students during nine individual ceremonies held over three days, May 21-23, 2021.

Hailey Marie Gagnon of Londonderry received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Technology, Summa Cum Laude.
Olivia Paige Palumbo of Londonderry received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, General Business Admin, Magna Cum Laude.
Noah Harrison Schrank of Londonderry received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.7; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.
ethany Costello, of Londonderry was named to the 2021 Dean's List at Union College. Costello is a member of the Class of 2022 majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Comprised annually, the Union College Dean's List honors students who have a grade point average of 3.5 for the entire academic year and meet certain other requirements.
ufts University recently announced the dean's list for the Spring 2021 semester. Among students earning dean's list honors is Caroline Hayes of Londonderry, class of 2022. Dean's list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.
Emmanuel College has named Owen Cook of Londonderry to the Dean's List for the Spring 2021 semester. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Emmanuel students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.

Rochester Institute of Technology announces its spring 2021 Dean's List! Undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their GPA is greater than or equal to 3.40 for nine credit hours of traditionally graded coursework; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete," NE, D, or F; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

James Toomy, a native of Londonderry, has been named to Emerson College's Dean's List for the Spring 2021 semester. Toomy is majoring in Media Arts Production and is a member of the Class of 2023. The requirement to make Emerson's Dean's List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.
Valerie Shay of Londonderry, was named to the College of the Holy Cross Spring 2021 Dean's List. A member of the Class of 2021, Shay is majoring in Chemistry.
Shay was among more than 1,451 students named to the Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2020-21 academic year.
To qualify, students must pass four or more letter-graded courses with no failing grades during the semester and earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Hannah Hagearty was named to the Siena College President's List for the Spring 2021 Semester. Hannah is from Londonderry. The President's List requires a 3.9 grade point average or higher.
Victoria Arsenault, of Londonderry, earned dean's list honors at The University of Tampa for the Spring 2021 semester. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean's list.
The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects. The following undergradutes were named to the Spring 2021 Dean's List:

Students named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire are students who have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance during a semester enrolled in a full-time course load (12 or more graded credits). Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.
