Man Accused Of Trying To Scam $12,000 From Elderly Man: Police
Elvis Guzman from Patterson, NJ, is accused of trying to scam an elderly Londonderry resident of $12,000 to free his grandchild, police say.

LONDONDERRY, NH — A 43-year-old New Jersey was arrested Friday after Londonderry Police were notified about a man at a residence on Parmenter Road who told police the man was at his home to collect money from a phone scam, police said Monday.
Police have identified the man as Londonderry police Elvis Guzman, 43 of Patterson, New Jersey, who was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit theft by deception and attempted theft by deception, which are both Class A felonies, police said.
Londonderry Police Sgt. Christopher Olson said the caller reported that he had previously fallen for a scam in which the suspects contacted him stating that his grandchild was in jail and needed $12,000 to bail him out. However, the money was not sent and the suspects stated they would come to the residence and pick it up, Olson said.

According to the report, it is believed that Guzman was there in an attempt to collect the $12,000 from the scam. Guzman was held without bail and arraigned on Monday via video at Rockingham Superior Court.
