Man Fatally Shot After Reportedly Fleeing From Traffic Stop In Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH — One person is dead after police said there was a foot pursuit, which led to a man being shot and killed by police, on Saturday morning.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and State Police Major Crime are beginning an investigation in the area of South Mammoth Road. The AG’s Office says that the incident reportedly occurred after police responded to the area off South Mammoth Road in Manchester for a report of a suspicious vehicle. A pursuit ensued, which ended with a motor vehicle crash and a man fleeing from the scene on foot from the police.

In the area of 293 South Mammoth Road, the man was shot, officials said. Life-saving measures were attempted, and the man was transported to the hospital, where he later died, according to a statement.

According to the Manchester police logs, the suspicious vehicle was initially dispatched to Tougas Avenue and Aurore Avenue, an area near the Green Acres and McLaughlin Schools. The ambulance was dispatched just after 5 a.m. to the area of 100 Jack Lovering Avenue, the site of Green Acres School.

Several locations in the area are closed off by crime-scene tape; the investigation is just beginning for authorities.
