North School Student to Sing Anthem for Obama
Gabrielle Geraghty will sing in Portsmouth tomorrow.

A fifth grader at North School has earned the opportunity to sing the National Anthem before President Obama's appearance in Portsmouth on Friday, according to Superintendent Nate Greenberg.
Gabrielle Geraghty will flex her pipes at the historic Strawbery Bank Museum. Just last month, Windham student Emma Joanis received a similar opportunity before Obama's appearance at Windham High School.
According to Greenberg, Geraghty had the lead role in the Glee Club's production of "Mulan Jr." last April, which took place at the Palace Theatre in Manchester. The performance was attended by Gov. John Lynch.

Greenberg descibed her voice as "outstanding," also noting that Geraghty is blind. According to a report from the Derry News on the performance last yaer, Geraghty had a sighted guide on stage.
Obama supporters have already been flocking to OFA offices to secure tickets to the event. The President is scheduled to address the audience at 12:20 p.m.
