Officer-Involved Shooting Under Investigation In Londonderry
Cops were sent to Orchard View Drive on Wednesday for a shooting at Planet Fitness; the suspect was shot later on Winding Pond Road.

LONDONDERRY, NH — Londonderry police and firefighters were sent to a report of a shooting at a shopping center at Orchard View Drive on Wednesday afternoon — which led to an officer-involved shooting about a mile away.
Around 4:45 p.m., dispatch sent police to the Planet Fitness on Orchard View Drive for a report of shots fired. An employee accused a man of firing a gun inside the facility and then, retreating to a break room. The employee did not know where the suspect was located after that, dispatch said.
Officers at the scene told dispatch they wanted to clear Planet Fitness first to make sure he was not still in the building. The facility was then evacuated. Firefighters staged nearby on Buttrick Road.

Later, officers confirmed the suspect had left. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a goatee and dreadlocks who was wearing a durag.
Dispatch told police the suspect lived on Winding Pond Road, less than a mile away. The suspect also had a silver 2014 BMW X3.

Around 5 p.m., other officers found the vehicle and warned dispatch they would be making “a high-risk stop,” according to scanner chatter. The road was also shut down.
The suspect was confirmed by police to be armed as he reportedly exited a vehicle. He could be heard screaming in the background. An officer then reported shots were fired and two medics were requested.
At just before 5:15 p.m., dispatch told EMTs a med-flight would take 20 minutes to get to the scene, so they began a ground transport with a trauma code for a 20-year-old man.
“All hands continuing to work,” an EMT said, and then requested a recall, which brought off-duty firefighters and EMTs to the scene.
An officer also stated “a couple of other subjects” needed to be evaluated at the scene.
Just before 5:30 p.m., a fire commander reported the subject was “Code 10,” which, in some departments, means the person had died.
Around 6:15 p.m., Michael Garrity, the director of communications for the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, confirmed the department was informed about the shooting and the suspect was shot by police.
“The exact circumstances surrounding this incident are now under active investigation,” he said. "More information will be released as it becomes available.”
