Old Home Day Brings Great Weather, Crowds

The most activity was seen on Saturday for the annual 5K, parade and Town Common festivities.

Great weather for this year's version of Old Home Day brought strong crowds as well as some expected and unexpected political figures.

Longtime Londonderry resident Reed Clark called the event a great success, telling the Town Council on Monday that he was happy the weather held for the entire week, save for a few minutes after the annual bonfire ended.

Marching in the Old Home Day parade was Gov. John Lynch, as well as gubernatorial candidate Kevin Smith, who brought a contingent of signs and supporters. A float for fellow GOP candidate Ovide Lamontagne was also in the event.

Also marching was Frank Guinta, the first-term Repubican Congressman who represents Londonderry's District 1.

That parade was led by David Lundgren, who sponsors the annual 5K.

That took place in unison with a pending visit from President Barack Obama in Windham. Obama also stopped by Mack's Apples on that Saturday for a visit.

According to a report from the Old Home Day town committee, at least 200 people made their way to the Town Common on Sunday for the Christian Concert.
