Over 60 Hopefuls Vying for Town Manager
Acting Town Manager Bill Hart did not give a time frame for a new hire.

Following the closure of the town manager application process on Aug. 31, over 60 applications for the position are now being vetted.
Acting Town Manager Bill Hart said that he is taking a "wait and see approach" at the moment on the process.
"(We're waiting to) get guidance from the council as to what they're going to do from here."

As to the time frame for a new hire, Hart said that Londonderry will be best served by getting someone formally in place as early as possible. He added that the council feels the same way.
The town will also take its cue from the council as to how long the review process lasts.

There will be no preferential treatment to someone who is local, said Hart, and the town is looking for somebody with experience dealing with a large town.
"We're also looking for somebody that is experienced with the type of development opportunities that Londonderry is going to see in the next few years to a decade out," Hart said.
Hart took on the role of acting town manager on June 20 after David Caron stepped away from the position.
He spoke about his summer of learning to balance his roles as police chief and town manager.
"I found it very interesting and challenging in a lot of regards," Hart said. "As always I am grateful to serve this community that has become the place where I devoted by career."
Caron served as the town manager since 2003. His resignation became effective on July 20.
