Pedestrian Struck on I-93

A 25-year-old woman was struck on the highway last night.

A 25-year-old woman has been identified by state police as the pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Interstate 93 in Salem last night.

According to police, Manchester resident Jessica Kimball was with her 2008 Subaru stopped in the breakdown lane on I-93 north in Salem near the Windham town line at the time of the accident.

Just after 8:30 p.m., Kimball had exited her vehicle and was in the road when she was struck by a 2006 Saab, which was driven by Gayle Baker, 49, of Windham. Kimball was transported to Parkland Medical Center in Derry for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.

Officers from State Police Troop B and the State Police Technical Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the accident for about three hours, causing northbound lanes to be restricted. The highway was cleared and re-opened by 11:30 p.m.
