LONDONDERRY, NH — A man from Portsmouth is facing several felony charges after a home invasion and assault incident in Londonderry Sunday.

Around 6:15 a.m., police were sent to Woodhenge Circle for a report of a burglary that had just occurred. When they arrived, the victims in the case said a man known to them had fled the area into the woods near the home.

Investigators accused Ryan Raiche, 40, of Portsmouth, of entering the home through a first-floor window, in an effort to find keys to a vehicle he did not have permission to use. A report stated he then got into an altercation with a man and girl inside the home.

“It is alleged that the suspect bound the female’s hands with tape and had a physical altercation with the male homeowner, resulting in the male homeowner having several minor injuries from a knife,” police said. “A Londonderry Police K-9 unit was called to the scene to begin a track for the suspect.”

Raiche was found a short time later by Derry police near Scobie Pond Road, but he fled again into the woods, police said. After what was described as a “brief foot pursuit and ensuing struggle,” Ryan was captured.

Raiche was charged with burglary, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, criminal restraint, and three second-degree assault with a deadly weapon charges, all felonies, as well as two counts of simple assault and resisting arrest or detention. He was held without bail and arraigned on Monday in Rockingham County Superior Court. After arraignment, he was held without bail.

Raiche is no stranger to the police, with more than two decades of charges against him, dating back to 2001 in New Hampshire, according to superior court records. Charges included drug possession, acts prohibited, child endangerment, reckless conduct, criminal threatening, receiving stolen property, burglary, theft by unauthorized taking, theft by deception, and violation of probation or parole, in several Rockingham County communities.
