State Police Bomb Squad Responds To Second Incident Within Hours

Manchester police and state police responded to a suspicious item at the Mall of New Hampshire on South Willow Street on Sunday afternoon.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police responded to the Mall of New Hampshire on South Willow Street for a suspicious item reported Sunday.

An area of the parking lot and parts of the mall were closed while police worked on determining what the item was. After a short time, a decision was made to bring the resources of the New Hampshire State Police Bomb Squad (EOD) to the scene.

Two members of the EOD worked on the item, and the situation was determined not to be dangerous.

A short time after the situation was determined to be safe, the mall reopened, and shoppers could continue shopping.

This was the second call NHSP EOD responded to within a few hours, earlier in the day, they responded to a bomb threat in Amherst.
