Town Prepares for 2,500 to 3,000 Primary Voters

Polls will open next Tuesday at Londonderry High School.

The town of Londonderry anticipates a solid turnout for the Sept. 11 primary, which could be made even higher by this year's selection of a new governor.

"If I look back at the history, probably between 2,500 to 3,000 (voters)," said Town Clerk Marguerite Seymour.

Seymour said that redistricting in the state of New Hampshire sees Londonderry splitting from Auburn. The town now has seven seats in the House of Representatives

The new voter identification law is being grandfathered in during this election cycle. Seymour said that all voters will be asked for identification, and those who don't have ID's will be given a pamphlet with the information about the new law. Those pamphlets will be at the ballot clerk tables.

The new law is also attached to the Londonderry town website.

Seymour added that she and Town Moderator Cindi Conley have been in their positions for several years, and they are prepared through state laws for any problems come election day.

Voting will open at the Londonderry High School gymnasium and run from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
