5 Things: Welcome Spring!
Calendar says it's spring. Mother Nature has some explaining to do.

1. Vernal Equinox: As of 7:02 a.m. it's SPRING! Tell that to the wet blanket of snow out there. In case you were wondering, the word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning “equal night.” Days and nights are approximately equal everywhere and the Sun rises and sets due east and west. Vernal means "fresh and new," as in spring. It's also a city in Utah.
2. On That Note: Please take a moment to click this link, or the YouTube embedded with this post, and listen to the Nashua Flute Choir play "Spring" by Vivaldi, a tune you didn't know you knew. BTW it was performed at the Kristallnacht Remembrance at the Jewish Federation of New Hampshire in Manchester, November 9, 2008. Soloists featured are Jeanne Hebert and Jessica Breen.
3. It's All Relative: On this day in 1916 Albert Einstein publishes his general theory of relativity. If you have about eight minutes to spare, you can get the Theory of Relativity tutorial on YouTube, via Science TV.

4. Spring Leads to Summer: It's a good day to start thinking about busting out of hibernation mode, and Dana Farber has a good post to point you in the right direction. Foods that will do your body good – and that have cancer fighting properties, to boot.
5. It's SPRING! This time lapse video of daffodils in bloom will give you enough pause to consider the miracle of spring and rebirth and why winter is necessary. Enjoy.
