Arrest In Nashua Jewelry Theft: Police

Nashua police said William Oakes, of Hudson, was arrested in connection with a November jewelry theft.

NASHUA, NH — A man from Hudson was arrested in connection with a Nashua jewelry theft in November, police said Monday. William Oakes, 36, was charged with receiving stolen property, a felony.

The theft happened on or about November 9, according to Nashua Police Lieutenant Craig Allard.

"During this burglary, multiple jewelry and other personal items were taken," Allard said in a statement. "The Criminal Investigation Division furthered this investigation and learned that multiple items taken from the burglary were pawned at a Nashua store on November 16 ... Oakes was identified as the person responsible for pawning this stolen property."

Oakes was arrested Thursday and held on $10,000 bail pending an arraignment Monday in Hillsborough County Superior Court.
