Dollar Store Theft of Clothing a Felony

Third strike for William Prescott, if found guilty of theft of clothing from Family Dollar.

William Prescott, 42, no fixed address, was arrested March 27, charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, a class B felony.

Prescott is charged with entering Family Dollar at 38 East Hollis Street in Nashua on March 27 at approximately 9:45 a.m. and stealing clothing items.

A records check showed that Prescott has two prior theft related convictions which upgraded the misdemeanor level theft to a class B felony.

The class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Prescott was being held on $5,000 cash or surety bail.

Prescott is scheduled for arraignment in the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court on March 28, 2013.
