Hollis Brookline High School will perform, "To Kill a Mockingbird." This cast of students from the high school is directed by Elyse Tomlinson, drama instructor. The play, based on the novel by Harper Lee, tells the story of a black man wrongly accused of a crime, Tom Robinson, (Alec Paulson) and the white lawyer who defends him, Atticus Finch (Ryan Lemay). It explores the racial tensions that rock this fictional Depression-era southern town. Much of the story is told through the eyes of three children, Jem Finch, Scout Finch and Dill Harris. (Adam Bowling, Darcy Hinkle and Bradley Simpson). The audience witnesses their loss of innocence - along with that of their town - as Atticus Finch bravely tries to bring forth the message of racial equality.
Performances will be at 7:30 pm on Friday, November 16 & Saturday, November 17 in the auditorium at the Hollis Brookline High School.
Tickets are $10 for Adults and $8 for seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
