Ferry Street Closed After Dump Truck Snaps Utlity Pole

Traffic diverted from Route 111 indefinitely.

Hudson Police report that on Marh 20 at around 10:42 a.m. a Hudson town dump truck that was in the process of clearing the road edges of the recent snowfall backed into and snapped off a utility pole at the corner of Ferry Street (Route 111) and Buswell St.

Wires were down across Ferry Street (Route 111) and traffic has been diverted from the area. The Hudson Police would ask that commuters avoid the area this afternoon. There are detour signs posted at intersections and we would ask that drivers not drive around them in to the affected area. The roadway is expected to be closed for a number of hours while crews repair the pole and downed wires. There were no injuries as a result of this incident and the power was still on at the time of this press release
