Man Faces Child Rape Charge in Massachusetts

Wilson Mercado was arrested as a fugitive, wanted by Lawrence, Mass., police.

A Nashua man wanted on a warrant out of Lawrence, Mass., on child rape charges was arrested March 24 by Nashua Police.

Wilson Mercado, 73, of 2 Orange Street, Nashua, was arrested as a Fugitive from Justice on March 24 at his residence at about 8 p.m.

Police made the arrest at the request of the Massachusetts State Police in an attempt to locate Mercado, who had a warrant for his arrest for rape of a child with force from Lawrence, Mass., police.

Mercado was located arrested on the warrant, and was held at the Nashua Police Department without bail pending an upcoming arraignment at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court on March 24, and extradition to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
