Nashua Fire At Cafe Downtown

Nashua fire officials said a fire broke out at Cravings Cafe on East Pearl Street.

NASHUA, NH — A fire broke out at a downtown Nashua cafe Tuesday night, fire officials said. The fire started in the basement of Cravings Cafe at the Currier Building on East Pearl Street at about 9:30 p.m., according to Nashua Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Kerrigan. Smoke extended to apartments above; smoke detectors tripped and alerted residents who fled the building, Kerrigan said. No one was hurt.

The fire started in a trash pile in the basement, according to Kerrigan. The fire sent smoke billowing out the building for about an hour. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
