Nashua Fire: 2 Rescued; Firefighter Hurt; 10 Homeless
Nashua firefighters said they rescued two people from a burning Locust Street residence; one firefighter was also injured.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua firefighters rescued two people trapped inside a burning residence on Locust Street Tuesday night. There were no major injuries; two occupants suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation, according to Nashua Deputy Fire Chief Karl Gerhard. A firefighter suffered a back injury, Gerhard said.
The fire broke out at about 10:30 p.m. at an apartment building at 6 Locust Street. The fire appeared to originate on the second floor of the residence.
"(Firefighters) attacked the fire to access floor 2 and reach the (two) residents reported trapped there," Gerhard said in a statement. "Nashua Fire Dispatchers stayed in phone contact with the trapped occupants and advised they were in a windowless bathroom and could hear the fire companies getting near to them. Ladder 2 arrived and all companies worked together to locate and remove a male and female occupant."
