Nashua Firefighters: Shovel Hydrants If You Can
Nashua fire hydrants have been buried in more than a foot of snow so far this winter and more snow is on the way this weekend.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua has received more than a foot of snow this winter and more snow is on the way this weekend. Fire hydrants across the city are buried and firefighters are asking the public's help clearing them out. Residents are asked to shovel out their neighborhood hydrant by clearing a path from the hydrant to the street and then shoveling all snow within 3 feet of the hydrant.
The effort could save lives. On Christmas Day, Nashua firefighters shoveled a hydrant on Courtland Street and a few hours later used the hydrant to extinguish a fire at a home.
"Help us help you and clear your neighborhood hydrants this winter," Nashua fire officials said in a statement.
