DWI for Nashua Motorcyclist in Hudson Crash

Alexander Pelkey was not wearing a helmet when he collided with another vehicle in Hudson.

A Nashua motorcyclist was injured March 30 following a collision with another vehicle on Ferry Street in Hudson. Police have charged the motorcyclist with driving while intoxicating.

Hudson Police Department and Hudson Fire Department responded to the intersection of Ferry and Library streets just after 6:30 p.m.

Police determined Alexander Pelkey, 21 of Nashua, was operating a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveling west on Ferry Street, and Amanda Kuhlman, age 27 of Londonderry, was driving a 2007 Nissan Maxima and traveling south on Library Street.

An on-scene investigation determined that Pelkey drove into the intersection with Library Street against a red traffic signal and collided with Kuhlman. Kuhlman was wearing her seat belt; there was no airbag deployment and no reported injuries.

Pelkey was not wearing a helmet, and was transported to the Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center by Hudson Fire Department to be evaluated for his injuries.

Pelkey was released from SNHRMC just after midnight with minor injuries.  He  was transported to the Hudson Police Department where he was processed and charged with one count of aggravated DWI.

The Hudson Police Department Crash Investigation and Reconstruction Team responded to the scene, and portions of Library Street and Ferry Street were closed to traffic until 9:30 p.m. to conduct the investigation.
