Nashua Painter Admits To Violating Wage Laws

Prosecutors said Kevin Corriveau, owner of Nashua-based Kevin Corriveau Painting, failed to report overtime work.

NASHUA, NH — In a first for New Hampshire, a Nashua painter on Friday admitted to violating federal labor laws. Kevin Corriveau, 42, of Nashua, operated Kevin Corriveau Painting and from 2007 to 2011 instructed his workers to not report overtime hours in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Corriveau in federal court in Concord on Friday pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice.

"This is believed to be the first federal criminal prosecution arising from a Labor Department wage and hour investigation in New Hampshire," acting New Hampshire U.S. Attorney John Farley said in a statement. "In 2011, Corriveau himself also falsely stated to investigators that his employees did not work overtime on a Needham, Massachusetts, construction project."

Corriveau will be scheduled March 26.
