Nashua Police 'Granite Shield' Crime Sweep: 5 Arrested

Nashua police said five suspects arrested in another "Granite Shield" crime sweep faces charges involving heroin and a firearm.

NASHUA, NH — A crime sweep in Nashua this week under the "Granite Shield" program netted another five arrests, police announced Thursday. The suspects were identified as Karl Saunders, Hunter Phillips, Tyler Bott, Katherine Price and Nelson Devarie. The arrests were part of an ongoing series of Nashua police drug sweeps under the "Granite Shield" program, a state-funded initiative targeting opioid distribution in communities like Nashua, Manchester, Portsmouth and Salem.

It was the 27th drug sweep in Nashua so far this year. A total of 150 suspects have been arrested in those sweeps. The latest sweep resulted in "individuals ... arrested for various drug crimes, and various crimes frequently associated with criminal behavior related to drug activity," Nashua police Lieutenant Brian Kenney said in a statement.

The sweep was conducted Wednesday. These are the suspects and their charges:

Karl Saunders, 34, of Nashua, was charged with violating probation/parole and held without bail.

Hunter Phillips, 23, of Nashua, was charged with selling heroin, suboxone possession and crack cocaine possession. He was held on $25,000 bail.

Tyler Bott, 23, Nashua, was arrested on a warrant stemming from a firearm theft case.

Katherine Price, 27, of Nashua, was charged with heroin possession and released on $2,500 bail.

Nelson Devarie, 52, of Nashua, was arrested on a warrant stemming from a drug possession case and held on $800 bail.
