Nashua Police: NY Trio Ran $40K iPhone, iPad Scheme
Nashua police said Everton Ellis, Armelle Chester and Jeffrey Martin stole more than $40,000 worth of iPhones and iPads.

NASHUA, NH — Three New York residents were arrested in Nashua and charged in connection with a $40,000 iPhone/iPad scheme, police announced Monday. The trio were identified as Everton Ellis, 40, of Yonkers, and Armelle Chester, 25, and Jeffrey Martin, 48 — both of New York City. Police said the group used "multiple fraudulent identification cards" to order more than $40,000 worth of iPhones and iPads that were delivered to random Nashua addresses. The trio then allegedly staked out the residences and grabbed the packages when they arrived.
The trio were arrested Thursday, according to Nashua Police Lieutenant Brian Kenney.
"On January 19, 2018 members of the Nashua Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit collected several suspicious packages that were delivered to a Nashua address and were not addressed to the homeowner," Kenney said in a statement. "Officers learned that a subject unknown to the homeowner had attempted to retrieve these packages shortly after their arrival. The homeowner contacted police and turned the packages over. Over the next few days more packages were delivered to multiple Nashua residences in the same manner."

Kenney continued, "As a result of the investigation members of the Problem Oriented Policing Unit and members of the Traffic Enforcement Unit were able to observe the three aforementioned individuals arrive to a residence and pick up yet another suspicious package. Officers stopped them in their vehicle and as a result all three were arrested."
Ellis was held on $200,000 bail; Chester and Martin were each held on $25,000 bail.
