NCC Goes Blue for Autism Awareness

The college was illuminated in blue, part of Tuesday's Worldwide Autism Awareness Day.

On April 2 Nashua Community College participated in the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day by illuminating the exterior of the college in blue lights and custom projection images.  A series of similar events was sheduled to take place worldwide, illuminating public buildings such as 30 Rockefeller Center, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and even the pyramids in Egypt.

The event began at 7 p.m. on the front lawn of the campaus, featuring speakers including Nashua Community College President Lucille Jordan, who participated in support of her grandson, who as autism.

Nashua Community College and Nashua Center have partnered to create a program called LIFE-OP which assists students with nontraditional learning styles to continue their growth and development alongside their peers at the college.
