More Calls Made to Police for Help on Fridays
That's according to Nashua Police Crime Analysis Data for 2011, which provides a snapshot of police activity trends.
It's almost time for an update on the Nashua Police Annual Crime Report, which makes it a good time to review.
Last year's report, issued April 2012, breaks down various aspects of police work. The stated purpose of the report, compiled by Nashua Police crime analyst Dawn Reeby, is to compile crime and disorder issues reported to police between January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2011 which provides annual statistics to law enforcement and city leaders to develop and strengthen crime and disorder prevention and suppression strategies.

Calls for Service Overall
Calls for Service increased 18 percent in 2011 from, 102,185 in 2010 to 109,845. The linear trend line in Figure 10 shows that Calls for Service consistently increased over a 7-year period.

Day of the Week
Figure 11 details calls for service by day of week. Overall, calls were relatively consistent throughout the week, with the least amount of calls occurring on Sundays and the most calls occurring on Fridays, then Thursdays respectively.
Time Block
Figure 12 details Crime Analysis Data calls by time block – a four-hour time period. Most calls for service occurred between 8 a.m. and noon, and 3 -8 p.m.
Day by Time Block
When looking at day of week by time block, the busiest times per day were:
- Sunday midnight to 4 a.m.
- Mondays 8 a.m. - noon
- Tuesdays: 8 a.m. - noon
- Wednesdays 8 a.m. - noon:
- Thursdays: 8 a.m. - noon
- Fridays: 8 a.m. - noon
- Saturdays: 3 - 8 p.m.

Top call reasons included:
- Motor Vehicle Stops: 38,040
- Check Building: 8,211
- Check Conditions: 4,588
- Ambulance Calls: 3,677
- Accidents: 3,489
- Subject Stop: 3,091
- Activated Alarm: 2,795
- Give advice: 2,741
