Haz-Mat Investigation Ruled an 'Untimely Death'

Police offered few details about why a Haz-Mat crew and several police cruisers were called to a residence Thursday night.

UPDATE: 12 p.m. Lt. Michael Moushegian released the following statement:

Nashua Police responded to 29 Cadogan Way at 2:20 p.m. on March 21 to find a 64 year old male, deceased, no signs of trauma or foul play.

Police noted items that were of concern and called Nashua Fire and Rescue HazMat team and later the NPD Hazardous Device Unit. At this time, there does not appear there was any danger. Autopsy this morning preliminarily results rule the death to be of natural causes.

Initially a Haz-Mat crew was called to the scene, along with a bomb squad, after some concerns were raised about items found inside the home by first responders.

Molinari said he did not know for certain what the concerns were.

Residents were evacuated for several hours, but by 11 p.m. Molinari said the investigation was wrapping up.

Original Story: March 21, 2013 10:15 p.m. A Haz-Mat crew was called to 29 Cadogan Way just before 5:30 p.m. on March 21, followed quickly by police cruisers, and a bomb squad.

More than five hours later police were not saying much about the situation, except to say that they had responded initially to an unattended death and were using an "overabundance of caution" in relation to some of the circumstances inside the residence.

A bomb squad remained at the scene, and several nearby residents were evacuated. Police forced their way into the home, and electricity was shut off as a precaution, police said.
