Scott Brown Shares Personal Abuse Story
U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte introduces Brown at a Child Advocacy Center fund-raiser. Brown spoke from the heart and, later, made a dig at U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.
Former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) shared his personal story of abuse in a keynote address Saturday night at a fund-raiser in Nashua for the Child Advocacy Center of Hillsborough County.
Brown talked about how he was abused at a summer camp when he was a child and threatened by his abuser to never tell anyone. He praised the Child Advocacy Center for its work to provide victims with a voice and a path toward healing. Brown first revealed in 2011 that he had been sexually abused by a counselor and physically abused by a step father.
Brown, who has a second home in Rye, N.H., has said he's not ruling anything out in terms of running a campaign in New Hampshire, possibly against U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH). In his remarks May 4, Brown even took a dig at New Hampshire's senior senator, according to the Union Leader.
