Police: Woman Threw Child by Hair Against Wall During Assault
Malissa Wheeler faces second-degree assault charges.

Malissa Wheeler, 27, of 24-1 Scripture Street, Nashua, was arrested March 23 by police detectives, charged with second degree assault, a class B felony, for assaulting a child under the age of 13.
A subsequent investigation by the Youth Services Division revealed that Wheeler
allegedly struck the child in the face with an open hand, picked her up by her hair and threw her face first into the wall in the corner of a room inside the Temple Street residence.
At about 4:30 p.m. on March 23 police responded to a residence on Temple Street for the report of an assualt on a female child under the age of 13 who had suffered injuries, including a bloody nose, due to an alleged assault by Wheeler, police say.

A second degree assault is punishable by 3 ½ to 7 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Wheeler was held on $5,000 cash or surety bail pending her arraignment in the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court on March 25th, 2013.
