Allegiant Air Announces Portsmouth-Savannah Flights

Allegiant Air said its new Portsmouth-Savannah route will start in June. The airline also flies to Florida and South Carolina.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — The budget airline Allegiant Air on Tuesday announced more than a dozen new routes across the country, including a Portsmouth-Savannah line. Allegiant has offered service to cities in Florida and South Carolina from Portsmouth International Airport at Pease. Savannah will be the airline's fourth route out of Portsmouth.

"We’re very excited to grow in Portsmouth by adding this new service to Savannah," said Drew Wells, an Allegiant vice president, in a statement. "We’re sure area travelers will take advantage of our friendly, nonstop, ultra-low-cost service to enjoy the historic charm of Savannah and the sunny shores of Hilton Head."

The seasonal Savannah route to Hilton Head International Airport starts June 8 and will run twice a week.

"We are very excited that Allegiant will be offering service between Portsmouth International Airport at Pease and Savannah," airport director Paul Brean said in a statement. "Allegiant has paired two historic riverfront cities that are both renowned for dining, entertainment and recreation."

The company said fares start at $59 one way. Allegiant also flies to Myrtle Beach, Punta Gorda and Daytona Beach out of Portsmouth.
