City Residents Headed to New Jersey to Help Sandy Victims
American Red Cross volunteers Sue McCann and Tom O'Neil join relief effort.

A Portsmouth couple are among six American Red Cross volunteers from New Hampshire who are enroute to New Brunswick, N.J., to assist the Hurricane Sandy relief effort.
According to Kayleigh Robertson, the communications coordinator for the American Red Cross in Nashua, Sue McCann and Tom O'Neil are driving the emergency response vehicle for mobile feeding.
Other New Hampshire Red Cross volunteers are: Jim Timmins of Loudon, Jerry Kramer of Nashua and Guy Tremblay of Litchfield. Another volunteer from Rye is also part of the team, Robertson wrote in an e-mail.

Robertson wrote in a press release the American Red Cross New Hampshire has actively deployed two teams of volunteers who specialize in sheltering and disaster relief to New Jersey following Hurricane Sandy.
"More than 7,000 people spent Wednesday night in 115 Red Cross shelters in 9 states – New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and Ohio," Robertson wrote.

For those who would like to help Hurricane Sandy victims, Robertson wrote that financial donations help the Red Cross provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those affected by disasters like Hurricane Sandy. They can donate, people can visit www.redcross.org/nh, call 1-800-464-6692, or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
