City Man Arrested for Sleeping on Park Bench

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Sunday, July 21 through Monday, July 22.
Sunday:
- At 11:01 a.m., police reported the theft of a wallet on Woodbury Avenue.
- At 1:36 p.m., police reported the theft of a brief case from a motor vehicle on Deer Street.
- At 2:53 p.m., police reported a car break-in at the Wal-Mart parking lot on Lafayette Road.
- At 4:11 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man following a loitering complaint on Congress Street. Corey Jon Hoffses, 51, of address unknown, was cited for violating the city ordinances governing park bench use.
- At 5:12 p.m., police arrested a 16-year-old juvenile for simple assault following a domestic incident.
- At 9:39 p.m., police assisted the New Castle Police with a boating accident where a boat operator struck an empty skiff near Shapleigh Island and capsized it.
- At 9:43 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Woodbury Avenue after a truck driver said someone had broken his trailer's seals.
- At 7:29 a.m., police reported graffiti on State Street.
- At 8:25 a.m., police reported a stolen wallet on Market Square.
- At 4:06 p.m., police took a walk in report of an online identity theft.
- At 6:57 p.m., police reported a sick raccoon on Bartlett Street and Woodbury Avenue that was later dispatched.
- At 9:06 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Jeffrey Philip Bragan, 28, of 600 Lafayette Road was wanted for a bench warrant.
