City Man Charged with Vandalism

The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Thursday, Nov. 28.

Thursday:

  • At 12:25 a.m., police reported disorderly conduct on Daniel Street.
  • At 7:48 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Gosport Road after the caller said some mailboxes were knocked over.
  • At 6:35 p.m., police reported a purse theft at the Walmart store on Lafayette Road after the caller said someone took her purse from her shopping cart.
  • At 6:56 p.m., police reported a hit and run accident on Lafayette Road.
  • At 8:06 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he was detained by State Police. Ian Haas, 27, of 20 Chapel St., Apt. 5, was wanted for two counts of criminal mischief (vandalism).
  • At 8:40 p.m., police reported disorderly conduct on Woodbury Avenue after the caller said she pulled into a mobile home park and a male subject went up to her car and punched her car window.
