City Man Crashes Car, Charged with DWI

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Tuesday, Aug. 6 to Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Tuesday:
- At 9:17 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Granite Street after someone tried to break into the softball field house and caused some damage.
- At 12:58 p.m., police reported the theft of some Class EM equipment on Corporate Drive that constitutes a felony offense. The items stolen were a fusion splicer and two reflect optical time domain meters.
- At 4:03 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man for drunken driving following a single car accident on Corporate Drive and Northwood Road. Clark O'Shaughnessy, 58, of 1931 Woodbury Ave. was charged with driving while intoxicated and bailed after being transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
- At 5:08 p.m., police reported a fight involving four people on Winsor Road.
- At 5:51 p.m., police reported a theft of merchandise from a Congress Street store.
- At 2:02 a.m., police reported a burglary on Woodbury Avenue.
