City to Honor Veterans
Veterans Day Parade will march to Goodwin Park on Sunday at 11 a.m.
The annual Veterans Day Parade will be held on Sunday at 11 a.m., which also falls on exactly on Nov. 11, Veterans Day.
According to the Portsmouth Veterans Council, the parade will step off at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post at 11 a.m. and head down Islington Street to Goodwin Park.
There veterans, Mayor Eric Spear and other city officials, veterans organizations and community members will stop and reflect on all those who have proudly won the nation's uniform as members of the Armed Services. They will also remember veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country.

Following the parade and ceremony, members of the New Hampshire chapter of the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association will participate in a nationwide ceremony at Goodwin Park at 1 p.m. They will read the names of deceased veterans at Goodwin Park.
According to city officials, City Hall, all city offices, the Portsmouth Public Library, and Portsmouth public schools will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12, in observance of Veterans Day.

The Connie Bean Recreation Center will open at 2:30 p.m. on Veterans Day while all other Recreation Department programs and facilities will operate on regular hours. There will be no change to curbside collection of trash and recyclables, other than that Monday’s yard waste will not be picked up until the following Monday.
