City Woman Charged in Marriott Murder Appears in Court

A Portsmouth woman charged with lying to police about the whereabouts of Seth Mazzaglia, the Dover man charged with killing Elizabeth Marriott in October, appeared in Strafford County Superior Court with her lawyer on Thursday.

Foster's Daily Democrat reported that Kathryn McDonough, 19, went to court with her lawyer, Attorney Andrew Cotrupi of Hampton, but that it was not clear why she was there. The daily newspaper also reported that New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley was also present.

According to police, McDonough lied to authorities when questioned about the whereabouts of Mazzaglia, 30, of Dover, who is charged with the second-degree murder of Marriott, a University of New Hampshire student. and her case is scheduled to go before a Rockingham County Grand Jury in March.
