Clippers Boys, Girls Basketball Vie for State Titles

Portsmouth High Girls Basketball team heading to the NHIAA Division II finals; PHS Boys Basketball team wins first playoff game Wednesday.

Fresh off their state Division II title a year ago, the Portsmouth High Clippers Boys basketball team is looking to repeat in this year's NHIAA tournament and celebrate with a parade through downtown Portsmouth while the PHS Clippers Girls B-ball team gets ready to play Lebanon High for a Division II title in the finals on Friday night.

Boys Basketball

The 2nd ranked PHS Clippers will play 7th ranked Souhegan High School in the semifinals on March 13 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham at 6 p.m. after they defeated the Goffstown High Grizzles, 82-53, on Wednesday night. For a complete look at this bracket, click here.

Girls Basketball

The second ranked Lady Clippers basketball team defeated 3rd ranked Windham High on Monday night, 47-41, to advance to the Division II finals against Lebanon High on Friday night. The Lady Clippers previously defeated 15th ranked Oyster River High School, 55-34, in the first round and then Merrimack High, 56-49, in the second round. Friday night's finals game will be played on Friday at 7 p.m. at Southern New Hampshire University against Lebanon High.
